Once a 16th Century inn, the Old Angel in Axbridge is a lovely and large part-timbered coaching house which combines a sense of history with contemporary comfort.
Artisan and eclectic in style and decor (flagstone & wood floors, a fireplace or two with wood-burners, scattering of beams, stone sinks, Moroccan style wet room) there’s an emphasis on the hand built and use of natural and recycled materials.
Spread over three storeys – with 6 bedrooms/7 beds, 3 bathrooms, a first floor living room, large kitchen diner & cosy snug – the flexible accommodation offers ample indoor space to relax in peace or enjoy get-togethers with family and friends.
Hidden away from the house there’s a large secluded rear garden accessed by steps leading up to a lawned area and terraces.
En route, you’ll pass Little Angel, a small garden apartment at the rear of the house where friends sometimes stay. You can dine al fresco/BBQ in the Mediterranean style courtyard area here and the garden is all yours to enjoy. There’s plenty of space for privacy.
We’d like Old Angel to feel like a real home-from-home for our guests. With a fully equipped kitchen: gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, washing machine, dryer, fridge & freezer it’s well suited for self-catering. Feather & goose down duvets and all bedding, linen and towels provided.
Wi-Fi, TV, DAB Radio with Bluetooth, DVD player.
