Once a 15th Century inn, the Old Angel is a large, Listed, part-timbered house, combining a sense of history with contemporary comfort. Artisan and eclectic in style and décor (stone & wood floors, wood-burners, scattering of beams, Moroccan style wet room) there’s an emphasis on hand-built and vintage to add to its character.
Spread over three storeys – with a ground floor kitchen/diner & cosy snug and a first-floor living room overlooking the Square – the flexible accommodation happily suits either small or larger numbers of self-catering guests.
Hidden away from the house, there’s a Mediterranean style courtyard area for al fresco dining, with BBQ and chiminea and a rambling ‘secret’ rear garden, accessed by steps leading up to several terraces with plenty of places to sit. En route, you’ll pass the Little Angel a small ground floor apartment at the rear of the house – which has its own independent entrance. A working friend (wildlife producer) occasionally stays here – with no impact on your privacy – and the whole garden is yours to enjoy.
We’d like the Old Angel to feel like a real home-from-home. With a fully equipped kitchen: gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee machine/grinder, toaster, washing machine, it’s well suited for self-catering. Feather & goose down duvets and all bedding, linen and towels provided. Wi-Fi, TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime. Three bathrooms: 1 en-suite with freestanding bath, 1 large wet room, 1 sunken bath. Five bedrooms. First floor: Master king bedroom with en-suite. Double bedroom. Top floor: Master super king bedroom. Twin bedded room (2singles). Single bedroom.
